Redeeming a Lifetime code

How a Lifetime receipt unlocks the desktop apps. There is no web sale at the moment.

There is no web sale at the moment. Graphophone's first release is iOS and Android, where Depth is bought in the app, so nobody holds a redemption code today. This page documents how redemption works for the desktop apps, which are not released yet.

A Lifetime Pass bought directly on graphophone.app — sold by Lemon Squeezy, the Merchant of Record — rather than through a mobile store comes as a signed receipt. This page shows how the desktop app applies it.

Steps

  1. Open Settings → Lifetime Pass.

In the desktop app, with the vault unlocked, scroll Settings down to the Lifetime Pass section. (The iOS and Android apps sell Depth in the app and have no redemption field.)

  2. Tap 'I have a redemption code'.

A text box appears asking for the receipt.

  3. Paste the receipt.

Your purchase email carries the same receipt in two forms — a JSON block and a one-line QK1- code. Paste either one. The QK1- form is forgiving about case, spaces and dashes, so a line that wrapped in your mail client still works.

  4. Tap Redeem.

Graphophone verifies the Ed25519 signature against the public key embedded in the app. If it matches, Lifetime activates immediately and the Graphophone Depth capabilities unlock.

Two receipt formats

The same Ed25519-signed receipt comes in two shapes. Either is fine:

  • JSON. A short text block starting with {"code_id":, ending in a closing brace.
  • Compact, QK1-.... The same receipt as a single line of Base32, about 145 characters. Both arrive in the same email; take whichever your mail client lets you select cleanly. It is meant to be pasted, not typed out.

Privacy

Verification happens entirely on your device. The app does not phone home, does not look up your code in a database, does not record who redeemed which code. Whether redemption succeeded is local state.

Using it on multiple devices

The same receipt unlocks Lifetime on every desktop install you own. It is not tied to a hardware ID or an account — that would require a server and identity, neither of which exists. It is tied to the public key the app was built with, which means a single receipt covers all your installs of the same major version.

If a code doesn't work

  • "That code didn't validate." — The signature is wrong for this build. The most common cause is pasting a partial code; check the full block is present, including the closing } for JSON.
  • "We couldn't read that as a receipt." — The text isn't JSON and isn't a QK1- string. Re-copy from the email.
  • Still stuck? Forward your purchase receipt to hello@graphophone.app.
